About Us
Sunrise on the Rocks provides a fun way for young adults in New York City to become involved with Sunrise Day Camp, the nation's only dedicated day camp for children with cancer and their siblings. Created initially as an outlet for former counselors to raise money for the cause, Sunrise on the Rocks is becoming the center for sharing camp stories, throwing awesome events, and raising awareness about Sunrise Day Camp.
The Sunrise on the Rocks Committee is a group of dedicated young professionals and graduate students who come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but share one love: camping. We believe every child should experience the joy of camp and are committed to helping Sunrise Day Camp provide a full summer camping experience to children with cancer and their siblings - free of charge.
Sunrise Day Camp is a program of the Friedberg JCC, a beneficiary agency of UJA-Federation of New York and is located on the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds in Wheatley Heights, New York.
